TIPS AND TRICKS

Best Practice

Boot grab

Like most sports Powerisers/Powerskips/ProJumps are only as dangerous as the person using them and it is advisable to get a good idea of best practises before beginning to use them.

It is a common mistake to try and start to run before learning how to walk and many people out there are trying advance tricks like backflipping, boot grabs, and splits without having the expertise to pull these tricks of. Remember that always think ‘safety first’ when using your Powerisers and always wear some protective gear. Tricks should never be attempted without trying them out on a trampoline or a safety mat first.

Also, I have heard of some people using platforms to jump of in order to gain extra height. This is a dangerous practise and can lead to accidents as Powerisers have not been designed with this in mind. The extra spring compression can cause the springs to bottom out and behave in an erratic manner and can also result in the users spine to be jarred painfully.

Use some common sense and take it easy, slowly does it, there’s no rush!

Wear protective gear

It is strongly recommended that you buy yourself some protective gear to wear whilst using your Powerisers. A crash helmet, wrist, elbow, and knee protectors will all help to prevent you from injuring yourself. The crash helmet and wrist protectors are probably the most important pieces of protection that you can use. The crash helmet will obviously prevent any head injuries if you fall and is of paramount importance. The writs will help to prevent any damage to your wrists or hand should you fall as the brains natural reaction when falling is to protect the head by using the hands or arms. The Knee and Elbow pads will protect them from any concussion or scraping injuries.

Where to use Powerisers

Backflips

Powerisers can behave differently on different surfaces so be careful to pick a suitable surface to practise on especially when learning. A hard surface will provide more ‘bounceback’ than a soft surface enabling the experienced Powerbocker to gain more height something that would not necessarily suit a beginner.

Flat dry surfaces like tarmac offer the best grip for the feet of Powerisers but keep in mind that the harder the surface is then the harder it is when some part of your body hits it after you make a mistake, using your Powerisers on public highways cannot be recommended and could be illegal. Grass can be okay for jumping but running on it is very dangerous as Grass provides almost no grip when damp. This can result in one or both of your stilts slipping causing you to slip over or performing a rather painful split, ouch! In fact and kind of surface can be dangerous when even slightly damp.

It is advisable to always practise jumping on a soft practice mat that should prevent any injuries and always have a friend ready with a helpful hand to watch over you when first starting out with Powerisers. Please read the first steps guide for further information.

Please follow these best practices and above all be safe out there.
