Learning to Jump

Once you can walk without support then you are ready to experiment with the more interesting side of Powerisering: the springs! The only way to get a feel of powerisering is to take the plunge and start to learn how to jump. This guide should help you achieve this.

Get good height with your jumps

Jumping is learnt in pretty much the same way of walking, gradually with the help of support. Firstly find a support tall enough to lean against or a willing friend. Start to jump with the help of your support. Gradually progress from small individual jumps to a succession of jumps keeping up the momentum. Try and get a feel of the boots and how the springs release their power back through the boots once they have been depreased.

Try some bigger jumps once you have begun to feel comfortable with smaller jumps. Remember dont let go of your support until you are ready and stay near to it when jumping on your own in case you lose balance.

Greater jump heights are achieved by lefting your feet higher than they would naturally go with each jump. This increases the height of the fall and helps to compress the springs further. When you hit the ground put all of your energy into making the next jump a bigger one. Springs will give the energy back along the same axis as the energy is recieved so it is important to keep the legs vertical as the boots could 'kick' to the side, quite dangerous when you are extending your skills and could easily knock you off your balance.

Jumping needs to be mastered slowly. Don't try to jump higher than you are comfortable with, just enjoy the experience.
